2018 Is Celebrated As The International Year Of Reefs
January 17/2018

2018 is celebrated as the International Year of Reefs – IYOR2018 – as declared by International Coral Reef Initiative, for the third time since 2017.

Carpe Diem Maldives has always taken a dedicated approach to marine and coral reef conservation, most recently offering our leisure divers a hands-on opportunity to join our marine expeditions led by renowned marine scientists.

Hence when we heard about IYOR2018 we knew we could make a significant contribution towards the raising awareness and importance of coral reefs in The Maldives.

Embracing social media, and welcoming up to 60 divers a week on our three luxury liveaboard cruises, Carpe Diem Maldives is well positioned to spread the word through a simple hashtag campaign #maldivesreefawareness. Images shared through instagram and facebook using this hashtag and providing information to the Dive, Depth and Date they were taken, also gives marine scientists and other stakeholders access to a real time stream of images on the status of coral reefs and marine life in The Maldives.

Please see attached release and below link to corresponding images relating to #maldivesreefawareness.
